This policy covers play.sorofutbol.com and the forms hosted on it. Program enrollment, payment, and waivers happen in a separate system called DaySmart Recreation, which has its own privacy policy and its own terms.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
Everything in this section comes from a form you chose to fill in. We group it by who it is about, because most of our forms ask about two people: the adult submitting the form, and the player.
About the adult filling in the form:
- First and last name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Preferred way to be contacted
About the player:
- Player name
- Player age, or date of birth
- Previous soccer experience
- Requested training level
- Whether the player currently plays for a team
- Whether teammates are already in our program
Anything you type into a free text box: the question you ask on the Ask Coach Ray form, and preferred days and times on the Private Training form.
Not every form asks for all of this. The free guide download and the camps and clinics notification list ask only for a first name and an email address.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit, our hosting provider records standard technical information: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the page that referred you, which pages you viewed, and the date and time. We use this to keep the site running, troubleshoot problems, protect against abuse, and understand which pages people actually use.
2.3 Measurement, and what we do not do
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages get used. It does not set cookies and it does not build a profile of you across other websites.
We want to be specific about what is absent, because most privacy policies are vague here. We do not run Google Analytics. We do not run advertising pixels. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not run retargeting or behavioural advertising of any kind.
One thing worth naming: our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those font files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We do not send Google anything else.
3. Information About Children
Most of our players are minors, and four of our forms ask for information about a player. This section explains exactly what that means. It is the part of this policy we would most want a parent to read.
3.1 What we collect about a player
Player name, player age or date of birth, previous soccer experience, requested training level, whether the player currently plays for a team, and whether teammates are already in our program. Free text you type may also describe the player.
3.2 A parent or guardian provides it
Our forms are for adults. Every form that asks about a player requires the person submitting it to confirm that they are 18 or older and that they are the player's parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, contact us and we will delete it.
The federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, known as COPPA, governs collecting personal information online directly from children under 13. Our forms are built for parents and guardians to use on a player's behalf, not for children to fill in themselves.
3.3 What we do with it
We use a player's information to match them to the right program and level, to prepare for a first session, and to reply to you. That is the whole list.
We do not sell it. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not share it with anyone outside the service providers listed in section 8.
3.4 Information about other people's children
One of our forms asks whether teammates are already in our program. If you answer, please give a first name only, or leave it blank. We use it only to group players who already know each other. If you would rather not name another family's child, skip the field. It is optional and nothing depends on it.
3.5 How long we keep it, and how to have it deleted
We keep a player's information for 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time, and you do not have to give a reason.
To see, correct, or delete information about your child, email [email protected] from the address you used on the form, or call (858) 610-1661. We will confirm your request and complete it within 30 days.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiry, question, or request
- Schedule and confirm training sessions, free trials, camps, and clinics
- Match a player to an appropriate program and level
- Send you the guide or resource you asked for
- Send program updates and offers, if you consented to receive them
- Keep a record of the consents you gave and when you gave them
- Protect the site and our forms from spam and automated abuse
- Meet our legal and record keeping obligations
5. Text Messages
We run two separate text message programs, and they use two separate consent checkboxes:
- Non-marketing texts about the specific request you submitted, such as scheduling and confirmations
- Marketing texts, including offers, discounts, and new program updates
Consenting to one is not consenting to the other. Neither is required to train with us, to submit any form, or to buy anything.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Opting out of marketing texts does not stop texts about a request you separately consented to, and the reverse is also true.
Mobile phone numbers and text message consent are never shared with, or sold to, third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Full details are in our SMS Terms.
6. Email
Our free guide download and our camps and clinics notification list each use two separate email consent checkboxes: one for the thing you asked for, and one for marketing email. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop us replying to an inquiry you sent us.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website platform sets the cookies needed for pages and forms to work, such as remembering that a form was submitted. Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from bots, sets what it needs in order to tell a person from an automated script. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
7.1 Managing cookies
Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking the essential ones may stop our forms from working correctly.
8. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it or trade it. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of our operation, and only so they can provide that service to us:
- GoHighLevel, also known as LeadConnector. Website hosting, forms, our customer records, and delivery of our email and text messages.
- Cloudflare. Turnstile bot protection on our forms, and Web Analytics for page view counts.
- Google. Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Vimeo. Hosts the video on our Group Training page.
- DaySmart Recreation. Handles enrollment, scheduling, and waivers. This is a separate system with its own privacy policy. When you enroll, you enter your information there directly.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect the rights, property, or safety of our players, our staff, or the public.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep the information you submit for 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will. If a law requires us to keep something longer, we will keep that item for as long as the law requires and no longer.
We keep a record of the consents you gave, and when you gave them, for as long as we need it to show that consent was given.
10. Your Choices and Your Rights
- Stop marketing texts: reply STOP to any message.
- Stop marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- See what we hold about you or your child: email or call us.
- Correct something that is wrong: email or call us.
- Have it deleted: email or call us. You do not need to give a reason.
We respond to access, correction, and deletion requests within 30 days. To protect you, we verify a request by matching it against the information you originally submitted.
11. California Privacy Rights
Soro Futbol Academy operates in Poway, California, and most of the families we work with are California residents. This section describes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
11.1 Categories we collect
In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers, including name, email address, postal area, and phone number, and information about a minor that a parent or guardian provided, including the player's name, age or date of birth, and soccer experience. We collect these from you directly, through the forms on this site.
11.2 We do not sell or share your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as California law defines those terms. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
California law requires opt-in consent before selling or sharing the personal information of a consumer under 16 years old. Because we do not sell or share personal information at all, this does not arise. We also do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond providing our services.
11.3 Your rights
- Right to know what we have collected about you and where it came from
- Right to delete personal information we hold
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing, which does not arise here because we do neither
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information, which does not arise here for the same reason
- Right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse service, change prices, or lower the quality of what we provide because you exercised a privacy right.
11.4 How to exercise a right
Email [email protected], call (858) 610-1661, or write to Soro Futbol Academy, 14530 Espola Road, Poway, CA 92064. We verify your identity by matching your request against the information you submitted to us. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission from you, and we may still contact you to confirm.
12. How We Protect Information
We use established service providers, information is encrypted while in transit to and from this site, and access to our records is limited to people who need it in order to run our programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Links to Other Sites
Our pages link to places we do not control, including Google Maps, our Google reviews, and DaySmart Recreation for enrollment. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.
14. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle information about a player, we will say so clearly rather than change the page quietly.
